ACCESSIBILITY

Access is not a phase.

How we test this site, how to report a problem, and what a paid audit actually returns. We do not publish live scores of ourselves.

THIS SITE

We run the same checklist we sell.

Townhall Digital is built and tested against WCAG 2.2 AA. That is a working commitment, not a certificate on this page. The homepage checklist is an excerpt of what we run here and re-run before a client handoff — not a claim that every page passes every check on every browser.

If something on this site gets in your way, that is on us. Email [email protected]. We treat it as a defect.

HOW WE TEST

Scanners start the work. They do not finish it.

T.01KEYBOARD

Every control is reachable and usable from the keyboard. Focus is visible. Skip-to-content and landmarks are in the markup, not bolted on later.

T.02PERCEPTION

Body text meets 4.5:1 contrast. The page works at 400% zoom without losing content. Motion follows the reduced-motion preference.

T.03ASSISTIVE TECH

We test with NVDA and VoiceOver, not just an automated scanner. Scanners catch contrast and missing labels. They do not catch a form you cannot finish.

T.04PLAIN LANGUAGE

Labels, errors, and instructions say what happened and what to do next. If a sentence only makes sense to us, it is not done.

TITLE II

The clock is already running for some of you.

The Department of Justice’s Title II rule names WCAG 2.1 AA for state and local government web content. It has been in force since April 2026 for larger communities. April 2027 is the date for smaller entities and special district governments.

We build and test to WCAG 2.2 AA, which meets or exceeds the rule’s 2.1 AA standard. A free homepage snapshot is a first look — not a conformance report and not legal advice.

REPORT A PROBLEM

Tell us what you were trying to do.

Write to [email protected] with the page URL, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using if you know it. We reply within two business days.

Want a look at your own homepage first? Request a free snapshot. No pitch attached.

PAID AUDIT

A snapshot is not an audit.

The free homepage look tells you what is obviously passing, what is at risk under the rule, and what to fix first. A contracted audit is a different deliverable.

  • A.01Prioritized findings with severity and effort — not a raw scanner dump
  • A.02Remediation, or written guidance your staff can act on
  • A.03Re-test of the issues we said we would fix
  • A.04An Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) you can keep and attach to procurement

Ready for the audit, or not sure which you need? Email us.
